Commentary
Myo’ o sits with crossed legs amid raging flames. His face, distorted with fierce anger, has insights into the folly of mankind. Pitiful human bodies lying on the charred ground ring out an alarm that the human race will not escape destruction in the future if nothing is done. This harsh expressionism is nothing but the reverse side of the strong love Koji Kinutani has toward mankind and nature.
解説
烈火の中に結跏趺坐する明王。憤怒の表情には人間の愚かさを見通す眼力がある。焼き尽くされた地上に横たわる人間たちの無惨な姿に、近い将来このままでは人類は破滅を免れないという警鐘が打ち鳴らされている。激烈な表現はそのまま絹谷幸二が抱く人類と自然への愛の強さの裏返しに他ならない。
※結跏趺坐（けっかふざ）…仏教とヨーガにある瞑想する際の座法。
